Shipping costs

The following are shipping costs. Orders will be shipped out via UPS (United Parcel Service) or U.S.P.S. (United States Postal Service), normally within one business day of receiving funds.

Foreign customers are responsible for any and all additional import charges imposed by their country. These charges can be substantial. Please consult your national authority.

Power cord

We regret that we cannot stock power cords for so many possible countries. All products will be shipped with a standard U.S. power cord. The unit has a standard IEC power connector on the rear panel that will accept power cords specific to each country. The power accepted is 95-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz, drawing approximately 8 Watts at 120 Volts and approximately 12 Watts at 240 Volts.

Information we have about you will not be shared with anyone outside of AudioRail Technologies and its agents and successors without your consent, unless it is required as part of a fraud investigation or a court order.

We may occasionally contact you via e-mail to communicate company product information. This will not happen often. We will only contact you via telephone if there is a problem with your order.

Return policy

Our products carry a 30-day return policy that has both generous and restrictive aspects to it. If the product does not work in an application that we say it ought to, due to some incompatibility or our not advertising or documenting the product properly, the product can be returned for full refund of purchase price, including any U.S. sales tax incurred, and including a maximum of $68 of shipping charges (corresponding to U.S. domestic ground shipping charges to ship and return two units). International customers must accept responsibility for additional shipping expenses above and beyond what we are willing to completely reimburse U.S. domestic customers.

We regret that a small business like ours does not have the financial means to risk the kind of "no questions asked" full refund policies of major distributers and retailers. We wish we could, but we cannot. In a scenario where a customer desires a "no questions asked" return, changes his mind, has misunderstood the product's application where clearly documented in the website or user manual (for example, if a customer does not understand the difference between optical S/PDIF and ADAT Lightpipe, or perhaps did not realize that his existing building wiring was CAT3 or telephone grade cable and cannot be changed), or any other scenario that involves misjudgment on the part of the customer, then we will still be happy to take the return, charging a restocking fee to simply compensate us for what we anticipate it will cost us to sell it again. We have no intention on making a profit from a dissatisfied customer.

Again, we are a new startup doing our own direct sales and cannot afford to risk generous return offers. Our product functionality is so simple and straightforward that there should be no question as to the suitability of the product in any given application, compared with kinds of professional audio products that may legitimately require a trial period for a customer to decide whether a product's functionality is suitable or desirable for his application.

As eager as we are to sell our products, we believe that customers in this industry should carefully research potential product investments, technical documentation, and competitive alternatives with diligence and sobermindedness, rather than simply purchase a product on impulse because "it's cool".

5 year limited warranty

AudioRail Technologies warrants this product to be free of defects relating to material and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the original date of purchase, subject to the conditions below: AudioRail Technologies will either repair or replace, at its sole discretion, defective equipment legitimately under warranty, at its expense, and pay for shipping charges both ways (U.S. domestic ground transportation). Contact AudioRail Technologies first, before shipping any product back to AudioRail Technologies.

This warranty is transferable. It is not affected by transfer of product ownership.

About the high foreign shipping rates

The foreign shipping rates are high because the merchandise is being shipped directly from the U.S. manufacturer (AudioRail Technologies) on a sale by sale basis. If our products were instead offered through international distribution channels and retailers, the shipping costs from these sources would indeed be lower. However, the base product price in that case would be higher due to the associated costs that distribution and retail sales normally incurs. This should be taken into account.

Distributors and retailers are not in business for free.

This principle applies as well even to domestic sales. If AudioRail products could be purchased from a retail store, or from a large online distributor that charges no shipping for orders costing over a couple hundred dollars, the end cost to the user would still be higher, because the retailer or online distributor would inflate the purchase price from what we charged them, and make us commit to not underprice them.

The overall cost of ownership of AudioRail products, including shipping, should be compared to the cost of ownership and implementation of alternative products, when making a purchase decision. If cost is an issue, then AudioRail should work out to be an attractive option, even with high shipping costs.
